“OLD TESTAMENT NAMES FOR GOD”
[ A to D ]
ALMIGHTY : When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty” walk before me and be blameless. (Genesis 17:1)
ANOINTEDONE : The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD and against his “Anointed One”.( Psalm 2:2)
ARM OF THE LORD : Who has believed our message and to whom has the “arm of the LORD” been revealed? (Isaiah-53:1)
BRANCH : In those days and at that time I will make a righteous “Branch” sprout from David’s line; he will do what is just and right in the land. (Jeremiah 33:15 )
BRIDEGROOM : As a young man marries a maiden, so will your sons marry you; as a “Bridegroom” rejoices over his bride, so will your God rejoice over you. (Isaiah 62 : 5)
CHOSEN ONE : Here is my servant, whom I uphold, my chosen one in whom I delight; I will put my Spirit on him and he will bring justice to the nations. (Isaiah 42:1 )
COMMANDER : See, I have made him a witness to the peoples, a leader and “commander” of the peoples. (Isaiah–55:4 )
CONSUMING FIRE : For the LORD your God is a “consuming fire”, A jealous for our God is a “consuming fire”. God. (Deut 4:24, Heb. 12:29 )
CORNERSTONE : So this is what the Sovereign LORD says: See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, A precious “cornerstone” for a sure foundation; The one who trusts will never be dismayed. (Isaiah 28:16 )
COUNSELOR : For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, And the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful “Counselor “Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6 )
DESIRED OF ALL NATIONS : I will shake all nations, and the “Desired of all nations” will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD Almighty. (Haggai 2:7 )
